Summer Romero

  • Where I live: San Diego
  • Occupation: Student and Radiology Technologist
San Diego native, Summer is attending San Diego State University School of Nursing on her way to becoming a Registered Nurse when she's not in the water.

"I got into longboarding when I was 14 years old. I had always wanted to try it and my dad's friend took me out one day and I stood up everytime. I was instantly hooked and I have been surfing ever since." Summer's surfing continues on it's upward momentum with more competitions and more titles.

Titles:

  • 2005 U.S. Longboard Champion
  • 3rd in the 2005 Women’s World Longboard Championship
  • 2004 Women's World Longboard Champion
  • 2nd in the 2003 United States Longboard Championship

An athlete in and out of the water, you can find this longboarding girl rock climbing or taking aim with archery. An inspiration for all of us spectators, Summer thanks those that give her inspiration: her Mom, Donald Takayama, and friend, Joel Tudor.
