Girls4Sport Expands Options for Women Seeking Modest Swimwear
SANTA CRUZ, CA [July 21, 2010- While bikinis may still reign at the beach, women seeking more modest swimwear are finding a growing selection of alternatives.
One swimwear designer, Girls4Sport, which began five years ago designing women's surf apparel, found a niche in full coverage swimwear and has expanded their offerings over the years to include a variety of mix-and-match options in fashion-forward prints and colors.
"Women seek greater coverage options in swimwear for a variety of reasons, be it religious orthodoxy, sun protection, the need to cover a surgical scar, or just a desire for more modesty," says Kim Ruby, President of Girls4Sport. "We wanted to provide women with fashionable options so that they could feel more comfortable going to beach or pool and jumping into the water."
Some of Girls4Sport's more modest coverage options include long-sleeve and half-sleeve rash guard tops with built-in shelf bras. The long sleeve top provides coverage from the neck to the wrist, while the half-sleeve top provides coverage from the collarbone to the elbow. Both tops are designed with extra length in the torso to keep from riding up and are made from a nylon/spandex fabric blend with a maximum sun-protection factor of UPF 50+.
Girls4Sport also designs loose-fitting ankle-length pants and extra-long board shorts that fall below the knee. The pants and shorts are made from a soft, quick-drying sueded microfiber in solid colors to coordinate with the tops. Another cute coverage option is Girls4Sport's knee-length sport pants, which are cut similarly to yoga pants and are made from the same nylon/spandex blends as Girls4Sport's swim tops.
