For Standup, my friend introduced me (he's now my BEST friend/Boyfriend)

Athletic goals: To stay fit For Life! To SUP, do Yoga, and be outdoors as much as possible. Also, to introduce others to an active outdoor experience, and show them how tuning into the outdoors can improve many areas of ones life.
Inspiration: Some former yoga instructors taught me how to mindfully seek a balance in life. Melina Meza is especially inspirational to me as a yoga instructor. (www.melinameza.com). A few former high school teachers and counselors who taught me to be open and respectful even when you don't understand something right away.
Philosophy: If my kite stayed dry during a session, I didn't learn anything new. Gotta push at the edge of your comfort zone in order to learn new things. And learning new things is what makes life exciting.
Favorite spot to do my sport: Love yourself, and you can see the common denominator between you and your greatest enemy or your best friend. Seek a balance by focusing on being Here Now. Commit to something. Get outside. Tell a joke at least once a day!
Favorite Girls4Sport wear: I LOVE my reversible board shorts and my pink stretchy skirt!
What I do when I'm not in the water: I teach outdoor yoga during the summer for my own yoga business, Anahata Yoga, in Hood River. I teach yoga and skiing during the winter months at Mt. Hood Meadows.
My job: Educating others and myself. Owner, Anahata Yoga www.yogahoodriver.com
Education: BA in Sociology, University of Washington, Seattle, 2007. Minor in French, University of Washington, Seattle, 2007. Introductory Sommelier Certification, Guild of Master Sommeliers, Bellevue, WA 2008 Certified Yoga Instructor, 8 limbs Yoga Centers, Seattle, 2009.
Interesting/unusual facts about me: I Absolutely love to cook for myself and others. I love to learn about and pair wine with food. I love to read, and turn to certain books for inspiration on a weekly basis. Current Favorite: The Art of Happiness, by the Dalai Lama.
